Author Talk by Craig Reucassel

 

Lithgow Library Learning Centre will be participating in an online collaborative author talk presenting Craig Reucassel to discuss “Fight for Planet A”.

Craig Reucassel is an Australian writer, comedian and broadcaster who is best known for his work with The Chaser and for going through your bins on The War on Waste. Craig and a group of friends founded The Chaser newspaper, which led to a number of ABC TV Chaser programs, as well as Craig’s work in TV he has also worked on Triple J radio.

Most Australian’s accept that climate change is real, however many don’t know what to do about it. Craig Reucassel shows that it isn’t as scary as we think, and we can make a difference to help protect the world for the future generations.

Author Talk by Lauren Chater

Lithgow Library Learning Centre will be participating in an online collaborative author talk, presenting Lauren Chater’s Gulliver’s Wife, facilitated by Meg Kenneally, author of The Wreck.

Lauren Chater is the author of the bestselling historical novel The Lace Weaver and the baking compendium Well Read Cookies: Beautiful biscuits inspired by great literature. She is currently working on her third novel The Winter Dress, inspired by a real 17th century gown found off the Dutch coast in 2014.

Gulliver’s Wife; One woman’s journey to the edge of love and loyalty, is set in London 1702. When Mary Burton Gulliver is informed that her husband is lost at sea, Mary is forced to rebuild her life without him as a midwife and herbalist. Then he is returned, fevered and communicating only in riddles. Now her world is turned upside down.

Author Talk by Garth Nix

Lithgow Library Learning Centre will be participating in an online collaborative author talk presenting Garth Nix’s new novel, “The Left-handed Booksellers of London”.

Garth Nix has been a full-time writer since 2001, but has also worked as a literary agent, book editor, book publicist and has undertaken many other interesting professions.  Garth Nix has sold more than five millions copies of his books worldwide, and titles have appeared on bestseller lists of The New York Times, Publishers Weekly and USA Today.

The Left-handed Booksellers of London  is a new fantasy adventure set in 1980’s London and follows one girl’s quest to find her father, leading her to a secret society of magical fighting booksellers who police the mythical old world when it disastrously intrudes into the modern world.

Online Author Talks Coming Soon…

Lithgow Library Learning Centre in collaboration with NSW Public Libraries will be delivering an impressive line-up of popular author talks in an online format.

Chris Hammer’s crime series has captured the interest of many readers. If you want to get on board before we go live in conversation with Chris on the 14th October 2020, these titles are available; Scrublands, Silver and you can reserve a copy of “Trust”, today.

Coming soon for fantasy readers we will be in conversation with Garth Nix, as he discusses “The Left-handed Booksellers of London”. Lauren Chater, will also discuss, “Gulliver’s Wife” and Mary Li will be available to tell the other side of the story to “Mao’s Last Dancer.”
