Author Gabriella Della Vedova Conti is giving a talk on her book “Sulle Ali dell’ Arcobaleno: On the Wings of the Rainbow”, a family memoir spanning four generations with a journey from Italy to Australia and back again.
Recounting the family’s experience of migration, translocation, illness, love and discovery, this book is held in the collections of both the National Library Canberra and the State Library of NSW.
Gabriella’s ties to Lithgow go back to when she and her family first came to Australia and settled in the Lithgow area. This moving book is a personal journey and is built on both Gabriella’s memories and those of her family, and written through her father’s encouragement.
The talk will be held at the Lithgow Library Learning Centre in Main Street on Thursday October 15 from 10.30am to 11.30am. Morning tea will be provided.
“Lithgow’s present is built on its past and its past was built on immigration. I encourage you to come and listen to this moving story,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Maree Statham.
Providing a range of quality exhibitions and community programs that offer educational and social opportunities for all members of the community is part of Council’s Caring for the Community Strategy in the Community Strategic Plan 2026.
