Boy’s Day In at Lithgow Library!

Why should the girls get all the fun??? Following on from a recent “Girls Day In”, Lithgow Library will be holding a “Boy’s Day In” event in conjunction with the Movember Foundation to raise much needed funds to help inform and educate men about their physical, emotional and mental health.

Each year Movember brings together men and their facial hair, to share in a fun informative event. This year our resident long haired librarian Bruce will be shaving his moustache to raise money. Throughout the morning there will be a number of speakers on men’s health, well-being and special interests.

Tim from Tough Grind, Lithgow’s newest barbershop will be in the Library to perform the moustache shaving and will stay around to answer your entire beard and hair related queries. One lucky winner will receive a voucher for a free hair cut at Tough Grind. Other speakers will be here to talk about community groups and events especially for men and around issues that concern the men in our community. Come along and show your support and be in the running for a lucky door prize.

The fun begins at 11.30am on Wednesday November 30th  at the Lithgow Library. A gold coin donation will gain you entry and a ticket in the prize draw.

“This event raises awareness in our community about the importance of men’s health and wellbeing in fun and informative way,” said  Lithgow City Council Mayor Stephen Lesslie

Providing a range of quality exhibitions and community programs that offer educational and social opportunities for all members of the community is part of Council’s Caring for the Community Strategy in the Community Strategic Plan.
