Following their successful concert in Seniors Week this year, renowned actors Sue Alvarez and Christine Greenough, known as The Talespinners, return to the Lithgow Library Learning Centre with their “Christmas Traditions” show.
Join us at Lithgow Library on Wednesday 27 July at 11.00am and take a nostalgic trip back in time to Christmases past. This fun free concert will feature “bush Christmas”, “white Christmas”, “decorating the tree”, “family get togethers”, “cooking the chook”, “presents” and “favourite carols”. Listen, laugh, sing along, and then join us afterwards for a light lunch.
Bookings are essential – call the Library on 6352-9100 to secure your place.
The Library’s Storytime session on Wednesday 27 July will also have a ‘Christmas in July’ theme. Bring your pre-schoolers along for a fun morning of wintery and snowy stories, and frosty Christmas songs. This free session starts at 10.30am and no bookings are required.
“Storytelling is important to human development on many levels. It engages older community members by triggering their memories and encourages literacy and language acquisition in the young,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Maree Statham. “This is why events such as these provide not just entertainment for our community members but also vital engagement and social interaction.”
Providing a range of quality exhibitions and community programs that offer educational and social opportunities for all members of the community is part of Council’s Caring for the Community Strategy in the Community Strategic Plan 2026.
