Diversity is what makes Australia a great place to live so The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia is a day to celebrate the diversity that makes up our Community.
To celebrate IDAHOT this year the Library is hosting a very Special Storytime on Wednesday 16 May at 10:30am. Come and join in the fun and sparkle and glitter of our “I am what I am” Drag Queen Storytime.
The Day is a world- wide celebration of diversity and encourages people of all ages to learn more about all the people who make up our community. The theme of our storytime is to encourage all of us to be who we are. We are all valid and valuable. We are all different and each a unique individual so let’s celebrate each other.
Mayor Stephen Lesslie said, “Our community is progressively becoming more and more inclusive. IDAHOT is a way for us to acknowledge and celebrate the diversity that we so enjoy here in Lithgow.” Participants at the IDAHOT Day Storytime will enjoy some stories celebrating diversity, fun songs and a great craft activity led by our own local Drag Queen Martine. Everyone is welcome and dressing up in your most gorgeous and glittery outfits is encouraged.
Storytime is an early literacy program aimed at preschoolers and their families. This is a free event and all are welcome so why not join in on Wednesday 16th May 2018 from 10.30am.
