Lithgow, Portland and Wallerawang Libraries will be holding basic technology classes for seniors on Thursdays starting 15 June 2017 between 10.00am and 12.00pm.
“Internet use and computer literacy are essential in our society. Our seniors are required to use it for banking, staying in touch with family and accessing government services such as Medicare. These classes will provide a gateway for seniors who feel overwhelmed by technology,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Stephen Lesslie.
To provide our senior members of the community with some insight into the requirements of our changing world, the Lithgow Library Learning Centre is hosting Telstra Tech Savvy Seniors classes on Thursday mornings starting from 12 June 2017. The classes will be held over 14 weeks and are spread across the libraries in Lithgow, Portland and Wallerawang.
Classes range from introduction to the internet and social media, to smartphones and online shopping and banking. To assist participants to become comfortable using the skills taught in the class, we request that you bring your own device. Bookings are essential.
