National Simultaneous Storytime @ the Library

The community is invited to Lithgow Library on Wednesday 24 May at 10.30am to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime.

Now in its 17th successful year, National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual campaign that aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books.
Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.

This year’s picture book is ‘The Cow Tripped over the Moon’, written by Tony Wilson, and illustrated by Laura Wood. Lithgow City Council Mayor Stephen Lesslie will be our very special guest reader of this engaging story based on the traditional nursery rhyme.
“This fun event promotes the value of reading and literacy,” said Mayor Stephen Lesslie. “It also promotes Australian writers and storytime activities in public libraries and communities around the country.”

The Library invites all pre-schoolers, their parents, grandparents, and friends to come along to join in our Storytime session, which includes stories, songs and craft. No bookings are needed, just come along and join in the fun.

Please contact Lithgow Library on 6352 9100 if you need any further information.
