Create 4 Wellbeing @ Lithgow Library

Create 4 Wellbeing is a weekly art group that meets at Lithgow Library every Friday morning from 10.00am to 12.00noon and provides a safe, calm and reflective space for those in need of mental respite.

The sessions are part of the Recover Wellbeing program run by Catholic Care Social Services, and offer the opportunity to forget everyday worries and become lost in the joy of creativity.

“Taking time out to enjoy the benefits of creativity is very important for maintaining good mental health,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Stephen Lesslie. “These sessions provide a relaxing space to learn new art skills and enjoy the company of others.”

Sessions are based on the concept of mindfulness and begin with a relaxing meditation to help focus the mind. No knowledge of art is needed to take part in the group. There are different ideas to share, and different mediums and techniques to explore. The end products often surprise and delight, are never judged and always appreciated.

Numbers for each session are limited, so prospective attendees are asked to ring the group facilitator Edwina on 0407 203 895, prior to attending your first session.

Membership at your local library is free so please contact the library for any further information on 6352 9100.
