Refugee Week Talk and Workshop

Join us at Lithgow Library on World Refugee Day, Monday 20 June, from 10.00am to 11.00am, for a special event to be held in conjunction with the LASARS, the Lithgow branch refugee support group.

The event will feature speakers talking about some of the myths surrounding refugees; the Ration Challenge, with samples of the food; poetry readings; and a slide presentation. Morning tea will be included in this free event.

A Star Making Workshop for the One Million Stars to End Violence project will follow. You are invited to make one or more stars to contribute towards the Library’s target of a thousand stars that will be part of the One Million Stars to End Violence Project: An installation for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

LASARS will exhibit a month long display in the Library’s cabinets, you are welcome to come and view anytime throughout June.
