Lithgow Library will be hosting a community morning tea celebrating the Home Library Service.
Lithgow Library staff with current Home Library members, families, carers and other interested community members will gather on Wednesday 29th March at 10.30am to celebrate this excellent service. There will be plenty of entertainment with the Lithgow City Band performing, a local belly dancer showing us her moves, the Library’s own Ukulele Group will be leading us in a good old fashioned sing-a-long, and local residents will regale us with a poetry reading.
The Home Library Service is one of Lithgow Library’s most popular. Every week hundreds of books, talking books, large print books, DVDs and magazines are delivered to residents of Lithgow, Wallerawang and Portland. Residents who are housebound due to health or carer responsibilities, or who are otherwise unable to access a branch to select their own materials, are welcome to apply for the Home Library Service. Library staff will select, deliver and collect your returns – free of charge.
“This Morning Tea will not only provide great entertainment for local residents, but will also provide information about the Home Library Service and how easy it is to access this valued library service,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Stephen Lesslie.
