NSW Premier’s Literary Awards 2018

Premiers Literary Award

Lithgow Library has added to our collection the six books short-listed for this year’s NSW Premier’s Literary Awards.

The Awards recognize contemporary works by leading and merging Australian writers. Thirty judges considered almost 600 entries across 10 prize categories, with $295,000 in prize money to be awarded, making them the richest state-funded literary awards in the country.

The winners will be announced as part of the Sydney Writers’ Festival on Monday 30 April 2018.

The six short-listed books are: Common People by Tony Birch; Seabirds Crying in the Harbour Dark by Catherine Cole; The Book of Dirt by Bram Presser; Pulse Points by Jennifer Down; Taboo by Kim Scott; and The Restorer by Michael Sala.

These books are available for loan, or for free reservation, from Lithgow Library and our branches at Portland and Wallerawang. Please contact the library on 6352 9100 for more information.
