home library service

About the Service

The Home Library Service is available to residents of the Lithgow area who are unable to access the library due to age, illness or incapacity. Joining is easy – simply contact the library on 6352-9100.

Once you have joined, a staff member will contact you to discuss your interests and requirements. Staff will then deliver the items to your home, free of charge, and collect the items on their next visit.

We also offer a temporary service for residents convalescing.

Resources Available

You are able to borrow items from any of the library’s lending collections. These include: fiction and non-fiction books, large print books, talking books, CDs, DVDs, biographies, and magazines.

You will also receive access to our digital collection including e-books, e-audio books and e-magazines.

Delivery

Staff will conduct an interview to introduce you to the service and determine your preferences. Books and other library materials will be delivered to you according to your preferences on a monthly basis.

Bulk Loans

Bulk loans are available to nursing homes, retirement homes and other institutions. Please contact the Home Library Officer to talk more about your needs.
