Have you ever wondered why your pet or working dog acts the way it does? Come along to Wallerawang Library on Saturday 19 November at 10am for an informative presentation by local man Mike Strange on the behaviour and ancestry of the modern canine.
Mike Strange has a fascinating background. He grew up in the St. George area of Sydney and first gained employment in the banking industry. Later he had his own small business before leaving employment after a stint in the Security Industry and heading to university.
Mike’s time as a university student raised his curiosity in animal behaviour. Initially this revolved around horses, leading him to breaking them in by adopting the Jeffrey Method. For a time, he bought and sold leisure horses as a hobby. An encounter with a Czech Wolf Hound changed his focus. It gave him a new insight into canine behaviour which can ultimately be traced back to the wolf.
Mike will share this understanding of dog behaviour with the hope that it will encourage a better, safer interaction between man and dog. A special visitor, Mike’s dog Basil will join him on the day. If you are an animal lover or are just curious about animal behaviour, you will love this presentation.
No bookings are required for this free presentation. For more information contact the library on 6352 9100.
