Lithgow Library is starting a Cultural Café. The aim of this program is to provide an outlet for everyone, including those from culturally diverse backgrounds to come along, enjoy a cuppa, meet new people and share their culture or travel experiences.
Initially Cultural Café will take place on Mondays from 11am to 1pm at Lithgow Library, starting with the first café on Monday 11 March 2024. Times may adjust depending on the interests and availability of interested participants.
Students from the Australian Health and Science Institute who come from Indian and Nepalese backgrounds will be hosting the first café sessions. As part of this first session the students will be doing a demonstration on traditional tea making. This process is more than pouring boiling water over a tea bag. Participants will be involved in the process and get to sample the results.
