Australian Heritage Festival 2024 – Connections

18 May @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am AEST

2024 Australian Heritage Festival
“Connections – The Main Line Electrification of the 1950’s

-A lecture by Shane Morris at 10.30am on Saturday the 18th of May 2024 on the Main Line Electrification project of the Lithgow, Wallerawang and Upper Blue Mountains areas for the Australian Heritage Festival of 2024 with the theme of “Connections”.

Be prepared for some myth busting of long held local legends, and some revelations of previously unknown plans, brought to the light of day by Shanes research since 2016.

Post-WWII Australia was a time and a place of great change, and great growth, events that we only see the remnants of in the present day. While major projects like the Snowy Hydro Scheme are well known to us all, few know of the massive project right on Lithgow’s front doorstep from that era of great change.

Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits will be available.
