Lithgow Library is excited to be able to host author Diana Thurgood for the launch of her book “Second Chance, the heartwarming true story of a neglected horse who became a mounted police hero.”
Diana’s talk will be at the Lithgow Library on Friday 5th July 2024 starting at 1pm. “Second Chance” is a must read for any book lover but will be of special interest to those interested in the Mounted Police or have a general love of animals.
Diana lives just down the road at Berambing and is a self-confessed animal lover. She has spent most of her life caring and writing about animals. “Second Chance” is the true story of a neglected horse called Toby who was saved by Tiffany, a NSW mounted Police Officer who also happens to reside close to Diane at Bilpin. Toby was rescued with only minutes to spare before he was loaded onto a truck that was bound for the knackery. Toby then went on to become one of the top NSW Mounted horses where he served for 16 years.
Tiffany, the Mounted Police Officer who saved Toby and one of the main characters in Diana’s book will also be in attendance. Make sure you save the date and join library staff for tea, coffee and biscuits and a chat with the author or bring your lunch and enjoy this heart-warming story of Toby from the Mounted Police
Copies of Diana’s book will be available for purchase (EFT) on the day.
