The very successful Waste 2 Art exhibition is continuing at Lithgow Library during the school holidays, and in conjunction with textile artist Jennifer Channing, a sewing workshop will be held on Monday 3 July 2023 from 11.00am to 1.00pm.

Lithgow Library invites anyone over the age of 10 years to come along and create an owl pencil case using recycled fabrics and buttons. The workshop is designed to teach basic sewing techniques such as sewing on buttons, blanket stitch, and simple embroidery stitches.  “Anyone can learn these techniques,” said Jennifer Channing.

The activity is free of charge, but bookings are required to ensure that everyone has a pencil case.  Attendees might like to bring along some special buttons or fabric to embellish their creation. Call Lithgow Library on 6352 9100 to make a booking.

Lithgow City Council Library has a large variety of school holiday activities across all Library branches including board games, craft, Lego, and movies.
