Lithgow City Council advises that Lithgow Library will be closed from Tuesday 9 April until Saturday 13 April 2024 inclusive to allow for the safe installation of new shelving.
Installation of the new shelving will largely complete the recent refurbishment works funded through a $450,000 grant from the Public Library Infrastructure grant program to refresh and redesign the space. The new shelving will be movable so that internal library space can be reconfigured for events and activities, making the Library a far more flexible space.
The recent refurbishment works have included internal painting, a reorganisation of the different library spaces, new audio-visual equipment, new furnishings and the installation of quiet booths that allow for quiet study and meeting spaces.
A lot of thought and planning has gone into the selection of high-quality fittings that will futureproof the library for many years to come and staff look forward to welcoming you into the updated space.
